Warning: Spoilers ahead for Tracker season 3!

On Tracker, Colter (Justin Hartley) hunts down missing people, but the series itself is about to vanish for a while.

On Dec. 14, the most recent episode of the popular CBS series ended with a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving fans wondering whether Colter will survive after getting shot and crashing his car.

Viewers will have to wait longer than usual for answers, because Tracker is now on a midseason break.

When it does come back, though, the action drama's schedule will look different, thanks to the new Yellowstone spinoff, Y: Marshals.

So, when is Tracker season 3 coming back? Here's everything to know about the show's return with new episodes.

Is Tracker on tonight?

No, Tracker will not be airing a new episode on Dec. 21.

The previous week, on Dec. 14, the season 3 episode 9 titled "Good Trouble" ended with Colter getting wounded in his car.

"As a cynical writer, I’m like, 'Of course, he’s going to live,' " showrunner Elwood Reid told Collider. "But what the best cliffhangers do is put the lead characters or people you care about in really bad situations, but it’s about when they come out of it and how they get themselves out of it."

Reid revealed the next new episode will pick up "right away, right after the crash, and you get to see some weird s--- happen."

Tracker will return with new episodes on March 1.

Colter was in a car crash at the end of the midseason finale, and when Tracker comes back, he will be in "really bad shape," Reid teased to TV Line.

"He's the only one who crawls out of that car, and then he's got bigger problems," the showrunner said. "Without giving too much away, he becomes a wanted man because he's been at the scenes of these crimes, and people start wondering if he's in cahoots with the killer."

What is airing instead of Tracker?

Tracker is on hiatus until March, and several of the upcoming Sunday nights will be filled with special CBS programming.

Two of those weekends will have awards shows, with the Golden Globes airing on Jan. 11, followed by the Grammy Awards three weeks later, on Feb. 1.

How many episodes are left in Tracker season 3?

Tracker season 3 will have a total of 22 episodes, per TV Line.

So far, nine episodes have aired with 13 episodes to go when the series returns in March.

Tracker will be back, and most likely so will Colter, but Reid told TV Fanatic that he was "not going to speak to who lives or dies out of that car."

"But suffice it to say, Colter doesn’t just jump up and dust himself off," he added. "He’s got some severe problems."

Is Tracker season 3 changing its time on Sundays?
