Justin Long is paying the price for love.

In Ariana Grande's new music video for "Hate That I Made You Love Me" — which dropped on Monday, June 1 — Long embarks on an agonizing journey before he's buried alive by the pop star.

In the opening scene of the video, directed by Christian Breslauer, a sweaty Long, 47, fills a grave he's dug and drives away from it. As he's in the car, he grabs a propped-up wallet-sized photo of Grande and throws it out the window — but her ghost continues to haunt him in the backseat. When he realizes her ghost is following him, he swerves the car and gets into a tragic accident — yet somehow survives.

"I hate that I made you love me / Sorry if I made me your type," Grande sings as she continues to follow him. "I hate that I made you love me / 'Cause I barely tried."

Then, Long packs up what appears to be their apartment and accidentally lights himself on fire as he throws their stuff away — and Grande, 32, watches from afar.

After surviving the fire, Long appears at a diner and he's startled when he realizes multiple Grandes are surrounding him. He then returns to the grave and finds an underground room. When he looks up, Grande appears with a shovel and begins to bury him alive.

Grande released "Hate That I Made You Love Me" on Friday, May 29 as the first single from her upcoming album Petal.

The "Eternal Sunshine" singer announced Petal in April and explained that Petal represents "something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging" in a statement.

On May 7, she shared an Instagram Reel where she provided more insight about the vision behind the record.

"It's kind of about breaking up with all different kinds of negative attachments, whether it's my own monsters in my own head, external voices, things that no longer serve me," she said. "I could be talking about one thing, sharing something, and people could use it however they want and apply it to their own lives."

She also said the record was "a little feral" and written from a place she was "maybe too shy or polite to tap into before."

"This kind of just feels like, f--- it," she said.

The "Twilight Zone" singer will kick off her Eternal Sunshine tour on June 6, marking her first live dates since the Sweetener World Tour in 2019.

Petal is out July 31.
