Sydney Sweeney was reportedly convinced Sam Levinson to keep her nude scenes in Euphoria's final season.
Euphoria ended on Sunday, May 31, after three wild seasons. The HBO show, which grabbed attention for its raunchy, dark, and deadly storyline, pushed movie stars like Jacob Elordi, Zendaya, and Sydney Sweeney into public consciousness, leading them to Hollywood stardom, as the show dominated pop culture.
And to go out with a bang, Season 3 was undoubtedly the most shocking one yet, with Sydney Sweeney performing numerous nude scenes during the final installment. This comes as the show's creator called Sweeney's performance in the ultimate season "brilliant."

During Euphoria's final season, Sweeney's character, Cassie, becomes an OnlyFans star, while her husband, Jacob Elordi's Nate, is brutalized by loan sharks.
During Sweeney's OnlyFans scenes, she is frequently seen naked, something that Sam Levinson claimed the actress requested.

Speaking on May 31's episode of The New York Times' Popcast, the showrunner said that he had originally opted for more subtle and tasteful nude scenes.
And while referencing a montage scene of Cassie's fetishization content, Levinson said, "Well, it’s funny. When I first wrote it, I thought, 'Well, maybe we shoot all of this, and we don’t have any nudity.' I was talking to her, and you know, [I said] 'Maybe there's ways to shoot around certain things?'"
However, according to Levinson, Sweeney, 28, didn't want that, as he continued, "She looked at me, and she was like, 'Are you kidding? It's like, I'm playing an OnlyFans model. You're telling me you're going to, like, skirt around it?' And I was like, 'Yeah, OK, it's a fair point,' So there's always a discussion of what works best for the character."
The 41-year-old then labeled the actress "totally fearless" and praised her for being "wonderfully professional" and "showing up game every day" to set.
"I adore working with her because there's such a flexibility in terms of the performance," Levinson added.

The director also addressed fans' concerns that the final season of Euphoria was overtly sexualized, remarking, "I believe very strongly that the best, most honest performances are when an actor feels free and safe. That's how you get a great performance. You can't if there is any tension, [because] the emotion that is going to be blocked. And that's something I've known from my days of studying acting."
Furthermore, Levinson explained that it was crucial his actors were "comfortable" with the scenes they were performing in, noting that it was important he "built up trust" with the cast.
Euphoria is available to stream now in full on HBO Max.
