Pete Davidson is gearing up for his most life-changing role yet: fatherhood.

The actor-comedian, 32, who is expecting his first child with model girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, 29, has everything prepared for his baby's arrival. From building a nursery to removing an indoor pool, the parents-to-be are ready.

All that's left is a name to land on. "We thought we did, and then we thought we found another one," Davidson tells USA TODAY. "We just wanna meet it, and then we're like, you know, this is a (blank)."

The "Saturday Night Live" alum couldn't be more stoked to fulfill his longtime dream of being a dad and growing old after working in Hollywood since he was 15. "I'm cooked," he says. "Like I'm (expletive) done, dude."

Naturally, Davidson is "definitely nervous" about stepping into fatherhood, but it doesn't overpower the rest of what he's feeling.

"But I'm just so excited to meet it," he says. "I want to meet this person we made. It's just been in Elsie's belly for 9 months, and I'm like, 'What, what is this thing? Like, come out already.'"

Still, time has been moving both fast and slow for Davidson, and he warns expecting parents not to procrastinate in preparing for a new baby. "Don't wait. You think 9 months is a long time?" he said. "Like, it is, and it isn't, because it's stressful and there's emotions and whatnot, but 9 months it comes. It comes fast. So make sure you're prepared."

Hewitt confirmed she was expecting in a July 16 Instagram post sharing a carousel of wholesome photos of the couple, including one of them seeing their baby's sonogram. She celebrated her baby shower in late November, according to photos posted on social media.

Davidson is ready for family trips in new 'cool' minivan

"The Pickup" actor owned his first minivan before turning 30, way ahead of his plans to start a family. In addition to being a fuel-efficient vehicle, Davidson says, he just loved the aesthetic.

"I bought a minivan, and it was great, 'cause no one cared. It was stealth. It was great stealth that I got around everywhere," he says. "I always thought they were cool."

Pete Davidson created a custom minivan for his new family as part of eBay's "Built to Spec" series.

Sadly, Davidson had to get rid of his new minivan after a dealership posted a photo of him with it, sabotaging his plans to drive unnoticed. Now he's partnering with eBay to design the ultimate "dad van," a Honda Odyssey custom-designed by Davidson with products from the company's marketplace.

Davidson incorporated a performance muffler, a leveling kit, a cold air intake system and a vintage Sony portable VHS player in his minivan, which is part of eBay's new "Built to Spec" series.

"We got a crazy fridge. We got a baby changing table. We got a vacuum. We got a camper on top. We added a little bit of horsepower. We lifted it a little bit, put on some all-terrain wheels," Davidson says. "The thing's (expletive) sick, dude."

Davidson says 'it's easy to be sad' when thinking of his dad not meeting his first child

Pete Davidson partnered with eBay to design a custom Honda Odyssey as he prepares to become a father.

The company plans to auction a second van inspired by Pete's and donate the proceeds to the actor's favorite charity, Answer The Call. The nonprofit organization supports families of fallen NYC first responders. eBay will accept bids for Davidson's vehicle through Dec. 19.

The organization holds a special place for Davidson, whose father, Scott Davidson, died in the line of duty as a firefighter in New York City during the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

"That's my charity, man," he said before applauding first responders. "It's a blue-collar job. They are heroes, and people forget that unless there's like a big tragedy. We only kind of acknowledge them. But every day, any day could be their last or and you don't know, I certainly didn't."

Davidson also said he believes his dad, who died at age 33 (almost the same age the actor is now), is excited to meet his grandson. "It's easy to be sad and try to make myself sad about," Davidson says. "It's a beautiful thing. If anything, maybe he's coming back through the baby."
