Jim Harbaugh had a few words of wisdom for Justin Herbert after the NFL player announced his engagement to Madison Beer.
On Wednesday, July 29, the Los Angeles Chargers coach, 62, appeared on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Abrams podcast and was asked if he had any marriage advice for Herbert. The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback, 28, announced on July 28 that he is engaged to singer Madison Beer, 27.
“Any advice for Justin? What’s the best marriage advice you’ve got?” Abrams asked Harbaugh.
“To attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind together,” Harbaugh answered.

On July 28, Beer and Herbert announced that they are engaged in a joint Instagram post. “Meet my fiancé,” Beer wrote in the caption, alongside a series of photos and clips of the romantic outdoor proposal.
One photo captured the NFL star down on one knee in front of the musician under an arbor covered with greenery and flowers. Another saw Herbert carrying his fiancée over his shoulder as she held up her hand to show off her glittering engagement ring.
More photos showed the newly engaged couple kissing, dancing and smiling at each other. The carousel also included a shot of a rustic wooden sign that reads, “Mr. and Mrs. Herbert.”

The singer’s mom, Tracie, shared her excitement over the engagement news in an Instagram post that included a cute screenshot of her daughter and future son-in-law FaceTiming her to reveal the big news.
“All a mother wants is for her child to be happy,” she wrote. “I’m so elated and fulfilled…my daughter has met the man of her dreams. Such comfort in knowing he will protect and love her forever. Some things are meant to be, and this is certainly one of them! Congratulations @justinherbert & @madisonbeer.”
The couple initially sparked romance rumors in August 2025, when Herbert was seen hanging out with Beer at a photo shoot. They were photographed walking in Los Angeles later that same month.

On Oct. 5, the two were spotted kissing on the sidelines of Herbert’s team’s game against the Washington Commanders at SoFi Stadium in L.A.
Last month, Beer opened up about their romance during an appearance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, revealing that the athlete came into her life “at the perfect time.”
“When I’m having a convo with my boyfriend, my hair could be on fire, and I wouldn’t notice,” she told Shane, 26. “And to be honest with you, he’s the first person I’ve ever felt that way about. Like, the world could be ending around me, and I wouldn’t realize.”
“It’s just so mature,” she continued of their relationship. “He came into my life at the perfect time. Our first date was literally at my house because we were scared to go in public.”
