The members of Jane's Addiction have put an end to their legal war.
On Monday, Dec. 22, the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, dismissed the lawsuit filed by Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins against Perry Farrell — as well as Farrell's countersuit — according to court documents obtained by People. The outlet also reports that the former bandmates reached a settlement.
The court's decision comes shortly after Farrell apologized to his former bandmates and fans for an onstage altercation with Navarro in September 2024.
“I’ve reflected on it and know I didn’t handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show,” Farrell wrote via Instagram on Dec. 17. “Jane’s Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades. The band, the songs, the patrons and the impact we’ve had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down.”
“My aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest and positive,” he continued. “In Boston, we fell short of that, and I’m truly sorry to everyone who was impacted.”

That same day, the band clarified the events at the Boston show and announced they were officially splitting up via an Instagram post of their own.
“After that show, without notice to Perry, we unilaterally determined it would be best to not continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perry’s mental health which we regret,” the Dec. 17 post read. “Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together.”
“We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Jane’s Addiction will forever live in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together,” the statement concluded. “You, the fans, are our lifeblood, and we will always appreciate you.”

The dismissal of the lawsuits comes 5 months after news broke thatNavarro, Avery, and Perkins were suing Farrell for $10 million.
According to the complaint, Farrell punched and shoved Navarro in front of the crowd in a “brutal and unprovoked” clash, before the two were separated by Avery and crew members.
In the aftermath of the incident, the band canceled the rest of their tour — the first in 14 years to feature all original members.
The lawsuit filed by the bandmates claimed the onstage blowup was the result of a string of erratic behavior by Farrell throughout the tour. In response, Farrell filed a countersuit of his own, and alleged assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract at the hands of his bandmates.
